Stanford University Selects New Steinway for Bing Concert Hall
Music Department faculty members Kumaran Arul, Stephen Sano and Fred Weldy selected a new Steinway nine-foot concert grand directly from the Steinway factory in New York last November. The piano will be one of two Steinways to be housed in Stanford’s new Bing Concert Hall, which is scheduled for completion in 2013.

Inauguration of Weill Hall at Sonoma State University to feature Steinway Artist Lang Lang
Piano superstar Lang Lang is featured artist for the inauguration of the Joan and Sanford Weill Hall at the Green Music Center on the Sonoma State University campus. He will perform on a Steinway concert grand selected by Sonoma State music faculty Marilyn Thompson and Brian Wilson. The piano was purchased thanks to a major gift to the SSU Music Department from Sonoma resident Liza Brickey in memory of her mother, Jean Sawyer-Weaver.

Folsom Lake College Chooses Steinway & Sons for Three Stages Performing Arts Center
The 2011 inauguration of the Thelma Scott-Skillman Recital Hall featured a new Steinway concert grand purchased in time for its star-studded Piano Masters Series organized by Folsom College pianist Tien Hsieh. Steinway Artists Charles Rosen, Dmitri Rachmanov, Jeffrey Siegel and many others also performed during Three Stages 2011-2012 season on a second Steinway concert grand previously selected for Main Stage performances.
